Assumption ARC has operated the recycling collection for Assumption Parish for over 23 years. AARC's Recycling Program/Service uses recycling collection boxes throughout the parish. Assumption ARC has its mobile crews travel in our recycling vans and trailers collecting materials in the collection boxes. Recycling materials are then taken to AARC's recycling processing building for sorting and baling. The recycling service is made as convenient as possible for the citizens of Assumption Parish. The Recycling Program employs over 16 adults with disabilities and 4 to 6 staff. We recycle over 350 tons per year. Recycling benefits everyone in Assumption Parish. It helps conserve resources, reduces materials going to the landfills, helps create jobs and helps keep the parish clean. Most importantly to AARC, the Recycling Program creates jobs for people with developmental disabilities.
