COSIPA was formed in 1972, with just a few public agency members. The membership has continued to grow tremendously, with members throughout the State of California. I started to attend COSIPA meetings when I began my career in workers' compensation in 1995. Having the ability to meet with other professionals involved with public agency claims has given me the opportunity to grow in my career. COSIPA has also given me the ability to expand my experiences in both my professional and personal life. Membership in COSIPA allows you to obtain firsthand knowledge of how to handle the challenges we all face in our respective organizations and how to get through these issues with positive outcomes whenever possible. Keeping up with the ever changing workers' compensation laws, as well as all theoverlapping issues we are faced with, such as ADA, FEHA and other employment laws is extremely challenging. At COSIPA we strive to keep our programs current and tailored to meet the needs of our attendees. We listen to you and ask for your input regarding topics that would be beneficial to each of you in your endeavor to be an asset to your organizations.
