Definition Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: The Network/Systems Specialist works with the Innovation and Technology Department's Infrastructure team supporting the network, communications, systems, and security infrastructure for the City of Fontana. This role is the point person for all things communications, which includes the phone system and cellular services. This includes troubleshooting the on-premises Mitel phone system, troubleshooting cellular coverage and performance issues, and interacting with telecommunications providers. Other duties include working with the infrastructure team in maintaining the City's infrastructure. This includes server patching, managing our server backups, replacing failed network and server hardware, and other maintenance tasks that must be performed outside normal working hours.
