Gallery Z started in 2001, in the same building as owner Bérge ZobianΓÇÿs photography studio, in the Olneyville section of Providence, RI. Encouraged by the positive reactions to his exhibitions, about two years and two dozen exhibitions later, in 2003 Bérge riskily moved his gallery to the city's Historic Federal Hill district.
