JobGiraffe was originally founded in 1964 as Miss Paige Placement Service in a small storefront office near the corners of Irving Park Road and Elston Avenue on Chicago's near northwest side. Over the next 20 years Miss Paige prospered adding additional storefronts in Elmhurst, La Grange and Arlington Heights. We specialized in placing women as secretaries, stenographers, keypunch operators, bookkeepers and switchboard operators at small and mid-size local companies close to their homes and in their neighborhoods. Times changed and so did our business. Miss Paige was no longer an appropriate name for a service that had begun to place almost as many men as women in office positions! We dropped the "Miss" and for the next 25 years became Paige Personnel Services, moving neighborhood storefronts to office buildings in the suburban business hubs of Skokie, Oak Brook, Schaumburg and Vernon Hills. By expanding our geographic reach we were able to place more and more candidates in more and more types of jobs - full-time, part-time, temp and temp-to-hire - across the entire Chicago metropolitan area. But, once again, times changed. The internet reinvented the way we do business, and it was time for Paige Personnel Services to reinvent itself too.
