Legacy Seeds, Inc. was founded in 1999 by Steve Jensen, Bruce Ceranske and Tyler Lee. After many combined years of working for other corporate seed businesses, including Cargill, WL Research, Pioneer and Clark Seed, they were looking for a way to develop and enhance the products using their own knowledge and experience. In October 1999, working out of his home, Steve started Legacy Seeds, Inc. Tyler soon joined him and Bruce became a partner in August 2000. Legacy Seeds, Inc. also began its research and alfalfa breeding program in 2000 with the addition of our Research Director, David Huset. David was with WL Research for 22 years and has bred hundreds of alfalfa varieties for seed companies in the US, Canada and South America. Our research farm is near Madison, Wisconsin and today we have some of the leading alfalfa Germplasm in the industry. Our Idaho seed plant was leased in 2002 and is where we package all of our alfalfa. In Waupaca we purchased a 2nd facility in 2003 and a 3rd in 2008 to further our warehouse space. In 2004 Legacy Seeds, Inc. acquired all essential corn and soybean licenses to launch the Legacy Brand of corn and soybeans. The corn and soybean business continues to grow with an expanded sales force of 50% since 2007. We look forward to working with you!
