Dr. Ernesto & Luisa Lira have long been providing outstanding advice to their patients for over 20 Years. Dr. Luisa Lira was born in Mexico and attended medical school at the University of Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico. After marrying her husband Dr. Ernesto Lira, she moved to the US. She is a people-person and being a pediatrician fulfills a great part of her life. Her experiences for being a pediatrician come from her age, through raising her children, regular continuing medical education, and from the families she cares for. Dr. Ernesto Lira was born, raised, and educated in Corpus Christi and thus has a long history in the Coastal Bend. Leaving the country to study medicine abroad, he returned to the US to engage in cancer research at MD Anderson Hospital and high tech medical research with Coulter Corporation. Dr. Lira is very active in local community activities as well as volunteer work for indigent children in many Latin American countries and enjoys seeing everyone at Pediatrics. Dr. Walston joined Pediatrics in December 2016, but has practiced as a pediatrician here in Corpus since 2013. She was born and raised in Ganado, Texas, attended undergraduate at Baylor University, medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed residency at Driscoll Childrens Hospital. Dr. Zulma Toledo completed her medical training at Ponce School of Medicine, in her native island of Puerto Rico. Since coming to Corpus, Dr. Toledo has worked at Driscoll Childrens Hospital Emergency Room, Driscoll Childrens Hospital Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Department, as well as among other medical and non-medical positions in town.
