Health for Friends provides a wide range of health services to those that otherwise would not receive them. We want to make sure this organization continues to impact our communities in the way they have for 25 years." Health For Friends has been providing free health care to uninsured Norman residents since 1985. During the past 25 years, Health For Friends has expanded to a modern, comprehensive healthcare center, providing nearly 26,000 appointments between its medical clinic, dental clinic, and pharmacy. "Our mission at Health For Friends is both medical and moral as we seek to alleviate the medical issues afflicting our neighbors that have no other place to go for health care," Medical Director Dr. Lisa Connery said. "Our dedicated team of health professionals uses all available resources to make our patients well. Without the support of Lynn Health Science Institute, we would not have the resources needed to be fully staffed and operational." The Lynn Institute and Health For Friends partner to provide health services to the low-income, uninsured Norman resident with no other resources for medical assistance. Those who cannot afford or are not provided with health insurance benefits and who do not qualify for government assistance make up Health for Friends' clientele. The Lynn Institute has been an innovative site for comprehensive medical research since 1989. The Norman Lynn Health Science Institute provides an ideal combination of research for pharmaceutical companies and independent research in sleep medicine and gastroenterology.
