Established in 1986, McCoy Grading has grown from humble beginnings into the full service grading contractor that it is today. McCoy Grading was founded by brothers Darrell and Jeff McCoy after they decided that they wanted more for their family's future beyond the family farm and private sector work. After the addition of Darrell's wife Jean, and Jeff's wife Tanya, a family business was born. In the beginning McCoy Grading specialized in pond construction and residential work such as septic tank installation. A key moment in the growth of the business occurred in 1992 when the residential market slowed and the company went into commercial site work. Another turning point came in 2000 when the commercial market took a downturn and the company pivoted into state and municipal work, such as school construction and D.O.T. roadwork. Since then state and municipal work has proven to be a key contributor and sustaining force behind the success the company enjoys today. In 2007 Darrell and Jeff decided to amicably end their partnership and Jeff's portion of the company was acquired by Darrell and Jean McCoy, who continue to own and operate the business today. Since then, Darrell and Jean have been joined by their son Daniel and daughter Crystal in the everyday operation of the company. Daniel is the Vice President of Operations, overseeing field operations for the company, while Crystal is an Executive Assistant in the management of the financial and compliance aspects of the company. Today McCoy Grading employs over 80 employees and does commercial, industrial, roadway and landfill work across Georgia and Alabama. We provide services such as earthwork, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, and erosion control for virtually any size and type of project. We employ the use of the latest technologies in GPS and ATS systems for automated grade control, with data preparation and support for these systems done in-house. McCoy Grading is proud to be a Certified Drug Free Workplace.
