In 2011, SLO Noor Foundation was officially created as a 501(c)3. Dr. Ahmad Nooristani brought his vision of a free medical clinic for uninsured adults to life. The eye clinic opened in the spring of 2012 followed by the dental Clinic in 2014. Since the first patient encounter, SLO Noor Foundation has served thousands of patients, provided over $15,000,000 in free medical services, and expanded from two half days to five days a week. All of these services are possible due to the doctors, optometrists, dentists, nurses, EMT's, Paramedics, community volunteers and other providers who volunteer their incredible talents and time to serve SLO Noor patients. And the need for our services continue to grow. According to California Health Rankings and the Dignity Health Community Assessment (2016), 16% of SLO County residents remain without health coverage. Every day, we are blessed to save lives doing this incredible work. In gratitude, Dr. Nooristani shares, "One of the things that has touched me the most over the years is the overwhelming support received from this community. Because of this continued support, we have set the goal of developing direct patient services in the North County.
