The Sparta Area School District (SASD) is located in Monroe County, Wisconsin. Our District serves approximately 3,000 students per year in the city of Sparta and surrounding communities and is also home to Fort McCoy, the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. Sparta is a growing community, and is known as the Bicycling Capital of America for its iconic bike trails. A growing community has led to a growing school district! Our enrollment has seen steady growth every year since 2011. To accommodate this growth, our District is currently undergoing a facility expansion project scheduled to be complete in August 2020. This project includes building a new 800 student elementary school as well as a new addition to Southside Elementary in preparation for Southside to serve as a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten center. Our District currently consists of twelve schools spanning grades K-12, including four charter schools. We're proud of the wide array of educational opportunities we offer to our students.
