YPC National Gives is the philanthropic arm of the organization. YPC-inspired choirs will be invited to apply to YPC National for grants, and the first grantee will be the Young People's Chorus @ Thurnauer in Tenafly, NJ, which will receive a $10,000 grant. In addition to the Young People's Chorus of New York City, the YPC National network currently includes four YPC-inspired choruses: Savannah Children's Choir (Savannah, GA); Young People's Chorus @ Thurnauer (Tenafly, NJ); Young Voices of Austin (Austin, TX); and Coro Juvenil Dominicano (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic). YPC @ Thurnauer, Young Voices of Austin, and Camp Eureka YPC were founded as YPC-inspired choirs during YPC National's pilot program following its incorporation in 2016. The Savannah Children's Choir was founded in 2006 and is a new addition to the roster of choruses committed to the YPC model. The launch of YPC National is funded by a five-year, $500,000 grant from The Robert and Mercedes Eichholz Foundation. YPC National's board is chaired by Adam Chinn, who is also board chairman of YPC. The board of YPC National comprises 16 members from around the country, including Austin, Florida, Minneapolis, New York, and Savannah, as well as from the Dominican Republic. Each YPC-inspired chorus is an independent non-profit organization with its own conductor(s), staff, and board of directors. Young People's Chorus of New York City is a world-renowned youth chorus founded in 1988 on a mission of diversity, artistic excellence, and education by Artistic Director Francisco J. Nñez, a MacArthur Fellow and Musical America's 2018 Educator of the Year. Under the leadership of Mr. Nñez, the program harnesses the power of music to fulfill the potential of children, heightening an awareness of the ability of children to rise to unforeseen levels of artistry.
