Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at the Best Western North Haven. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of banquet events, ensuring exceptional service and Guest satisfaction. This is a leadership role within the hospitality industry, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
This position will also be cross trained for the Front Desk of the hotel to be abe to maintain hours during slow banquet season; as needed.
Duties:
- Coordinate and supervise all aspects of banquet events, including set-up, service, and breakdown
- Ensure that all banquet staff are properly trained and adhere to company standards
- Collaborate with the culinary and sales team to ensure timely delivery of food and beverage service
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout all events
- Assist with event planning, including menu selection, room layout, and special requests
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of equipment and supplies
- Address any guest concerns or issues in a prompt and professional manner
- Conduct pre-event meetings with staff to review event details and expectations
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in banquet or catering operations is preferred
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food industry trends and best practices in hospitality management
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
