Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. GENERAL PURPOSE
The Accountant role will oversee various accounting functions including daily sales journal entries, invoice processing, financial reviews, vendor communications, and month-end close processes. POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and post daily restaurant sales journal entries, including petty cash adjustments.
- Process invoices, review for accuracy and completeness, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Record payments accurately and reconcile accounts.
- Assist in month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct financial reviews, analyze income statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries.
- Track vendor account information and maintain accurate records.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and implement process improvements.
- Multi-site capability and willingness to travel occasionally if necessary.
