Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Specific to this role, we are looking to find a new business pro to support the business development team leadership while managing various aspects of the new business process. The ideal candidate has a brand, creative, digital or media agency pedigree with a proven track record of contributing to new business wins.Here's a snapshot of your responsibilities as a Business Development Manager / Supervisor:
    • Partner with and support the business development leadership team as needed throughout the end-to-end process from qualification through to deal execution.
    • Drive the development of best-in-class RFI and RFP submissions that are thoughtful, bespoke and that strategically map our capabilities and talent to specific client needs.
    • On appropriate new business opportunities, lead the pitch-process and represent the business development team's perspective.
    • Support and manage cross-functional teams in the creation of best-in-class spec work for creative pursuits (eg. strategy, creative development and tactics).
    • Clearly and confidently represent the Accenture Song positioning, value proposition, capabilities and offering when required in external conversations.
    • Clearly and confidently represent the business development team's point-of-view on current initiatives as well as general status updates in internal contexts.
    • Provide leadership to internal Project Management to establish and run the overall pitch timeline. Coordinate all client-related milestones, and cross-reference the internals.
    • Help optimize our resource investments by facilitating streamlined internal processes that deliver maximum output/value while limiting operational drag and resource burn.
    • Own and drive the development of credentials documents and proposal documents.
    • Manage junior business development co-workers, providing coaching and leadership.
    • Maintain good hygiene of all team administration, folder organization, status docs etc.
    • Take comprehensive meeting notes and deliver actions clearly and accurately.
    • Lead and manage the development of any production needs including case study videos, pitch videos, prototypes, and other pitch theater materials.
    Travel: As required for client support and key internal meetingsLocation: New York or Los Angeles preferred; but if not, primary residency within 90 minutes of an approved Accenture office What you need/Basic Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in an agency (eg. creative / digital / media / design agency; holding company or independent), specifically in new business, account management, or strategy.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience directly leading agency new business in a client-facing capacity, ie. driving competitive pitch processes (including "spec work" presentations).
    Extra Points for/Preferred Skills:
    • Minimum of Bachelor's degree
    • Core agency new business skills including being able to support the end-to-end agency new business cycle (including origination, spec work development, deal execution)
    • Experience working effectively with multiple teams in a complex integrated model
    • Project management support, ability to help maintain and drive to schedule
    • Exceptional communication skills and ability to persuade (written, verbal, on-screen)
    Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Albany County, NY, California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below.
