    The Position:


    As a Charge Chef, you will be a leader in the kitchen. Whether in our Commissary overseeing at small team of prep cooks or at one of our exclusive venues overseeing our onsite catering kitchen operations an ability to lead a small team is vital. The Charge Chef will be responsible for leading the kitchen staff and ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent leadership skills, and experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering environment. The job has flexible, full or part-time scheduling, This is an hourly position.

    Responsibilities:

    • In the commissary you will be one of several charge chef leaders in the kitchen. You will be responsible for the completion of your team’s prep list to the quality standards in place. Ensuring that the items on your team’s list are completed correctly, seasoned properly and stored & labeled in the correct manner. 
    • Onsite at our venues, you will oversee all kitchen operations, including leading 3-4 onsite cooks and ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
    • At events you will oversee the execution of food service in accordance to the event’s timeline; hor d'oeuvres, first course, entrée, cake cutting, dessert and late-night food for 50 to 200 person events.
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
    • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure that all food preparation and presentation is safe and hygienic.
    • Work with other staff members, including event managers, servers, and bartenders, to ensure that all aspects of the event run smoothly.
    • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.


    Requirements:

    • Take pride in your job – We use ingredients from our own farm, The Farm at Gibbet Hill and many local vendors.
    • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
    • Excellent leadership and management skills, with an ability to train and motivate kitchen staff members.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, and an ability to ensure that all food preparation and presentation is in compliance with these standards.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
    • Ability to drive a 14’ to 16’ box trucks a plus. Additional compensation!
    • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
