The Curriculum Developer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The basics of this position:

    STLCC is actively seeking a passionate and knowledgeable adjunct faculty member specializing in Veterinary Technology. This role will be pivotal in developing a comprehensive curriculum for our new Veterinary Technology program, ensuring alignment with CVTEA accreditation standards. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the veterinary field and the educational needs of aspiring veterinary technicians.

    What you'll do:

    • Design a comprehensive curriculum that adheres to CVTEA accreditation standards.
      Integrate both general course materials, such as applied mathematics and biological science, and specific veterinary technology topics like anatomy, pharmacology, and veterinary practice management.
      Ensure the curriculum prepares students for various roles within the veterinary field, from companion animal care to biomedical research.
      Collaborate with external veterinary experts and associations to gain insights and recommendations for the curriculum.
      Outline clinical instruction modules that adhere to humane animal care standards and provide hands-on learning opportunities.
      Ensure assessments align with CVTEA standards and effectively measure the program's outcomes.
      Engage with the broader veterinary community to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective.

    Education, experience, and other requirements:

    The ideal candidate will hold an RVT certification and have a strong background in veterinary technology education and curriculum development. Collaboration skills and a dedication to excellence in education are paramount.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior higher education experience including curriculum development
