Purpose/goals
This position will be responsible for business development and sales within assigned territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Account acquisition, retention and growth of targeted accounts with mid- to senior-level executive contacts, thru relationship building, prospecting, networking strategies, and consultative selling skills.
- New business development, account penetration, and expansion of current business to increase sales volume per account via selling full range of SkillPath products and services.
- Account expansion through prospecting to new and dormant accounts.
- Account retention via contracts, strategic selling and penetration to new functional buying areas.
- Assessments of client business issues and performance gaps, recommendations of appropriate training and development solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision in developing an account plan for individual territory.
- Responsible for regular adjustments to sales plan to ensure the goal is met.
- Ability to represent SkillPath independently on sales calls and outside market activities, including occasional/infrequent travel, as warranted by business needs.
- Expected to drive annual revenue with the appropriate profitability to the assigned territory quota.
- Achieve individual and team goals for growth through collaboration.
- Demonstrate competencies in account development, sales relationships, consultative selling, analysis of business performance issues and appropriate solutions, account management, faculty management, product knowledge and application, networking, and prospecting skills. These competencies must be demonstrated with a proven track record in obtaining new business, team skills, application of knowledge relative to training and development, talent management, and human resource performance improvement.
- Presentations, written and verbal communications, business issue-based proposal writing, which are aligned to client issues and performance needs.
- Build credibility for SkillPath Enterprise Solutions within assigned territory.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or relevant experience in lieu of degree required. MBA or advanced studies highly desired.
Experience
- 3-5 years of demonstrated success selling professional services.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive quotas in the assigned territory or business vertical.
- Experience working with global organizations.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with/selling to senior executives.
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work nontraditional hours from time to time as market and client needs dictate.
- Excellent verbal and written skills required.
- Proven self-starter who can work both as a collaborative team member and as an independent salesperson. This includes being able to work remotely and staying self-disciplined and self-motivated.
- Ability to lead effective virtual customer calls.
- Proven success in solution sales is required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a strategic business development plan.
- Experience in the Education area highly desired.
- Must be willing to prospect and maintain a positive attitude while engaging with others.
- Proficient in Salesforce.com and MS Office.
- Travel in accordance with business need.
Physical Requirements
Travel may be required. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to talk or hear; stand; walk; lift up to 25lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
This role works in a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement.
