Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist supports and coordinates the activities of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Assists with the delivery and maintenance of programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist prepares materials that communicate the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Supports or delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist generates reports of compliance monitoring statistics, investigations, outcomes, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. May administer reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Position Description:

    The Compliance Specialist works on the Compliance Team and in conjunction with other internal departments and clients to ensure Lever1 remains accredited and in good standing with each state it does business in as well as guiding its clients in accordance with state and federal regulations. By maintaining state compliance requirements and administering insurance policies and quality control for overall PEO performance.

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Develop and provide employee training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems.
    • Identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.
    • Maintain records of compliance activities.
    • Manage and assist with employment verifications, wage garnishments and unemployment claims processing.
    • Work in coordination with the tax team to ensure client taxes are processed accurately.
    • Prepare and file state tax teams to ensure client taxes are processed accurately.
    • Communicating with Federal, State and Local agencies.
    • Manage new hire and termination reporting as states require.
    • Consulting with and advising leadership and management on compliance matters.
    Required and Preferred Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years' experience preferred in the field of compliance.
    • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, and other relevant regulatory standards.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel with a focus on data manipulation and report creation.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Attention to detail.
