    Definition

    Responsible for selling and servicing group business from all markets/regions primarily handling small group business while maximizing revenues for all areas of the Hotel. Assists in the overall efficient operation of the Sales Department, manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and solicits new and past business to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded. EMM is responsible for initial contact with client, detailing client’s event, execution of the event and client follow-up post-event to re-book/retain business.

    General Duties

    • Responds in a timely manner to incoming group/catering business opportunities.
    • Ensures that all business is booked within hotel parameters (Group MAR, appropriate F&B Minimums, Space Rental Fees, Menu Pricing)
    • Conducts hotel site inspections and client presentations.
    • Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required. Manage and maintain client account files.
    • Prospect for new business – participate in sales blitzes, cold calling and contacting former clients to solicit new business and attends industry events/programs as needed.
    • Builds and maintains strong client relationships.
    • Detail events to include all food & beverage, set up and audio-visual needs. Ask appropriate questions of the clients and make suggestions to ensure the details meet the group and the hotel’s needs.
    • Create group resumes and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel. Ensure hotel staff follows through on all requests.
    • Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
    • Ensure all contracts/groups that are assigned to you are executed to the best of the Resort’s capabilities. To ensure best execution of the events that are assigned, some general job duties are;
      • Timely communication between EMM and Clients (lead response time, email, etc)
      • Presence on arrival day for client/group event is mandatory to ensure all BEO’s are distributed, function space is available, clean, and ready for client’s arrival
      • As the point of contact, EMM must be present at the start of all of assigned group/client functions – including weekends/holidays
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report for insurance purposes.
    • Ability to access, input and retrieve information from the computer, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
    • Comprehend reading materials, speak, read, and write English.
    • Professional demeanor with superb communication skills; including verbal, telephone, and email. Proper phone etiquette is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and confidentiality always.
    • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and ability to follow-up on all details.
    • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
    • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
    • Must have neat and pleasant overall appearance.
    • Maintain proper associate professional dress standards and adhering to standard dress code.

    Required Skills And Abilities

    Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints. Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.

    In order to maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

    Safety & Security

    The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent and Horseshoe Bay Resort. Every Associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
