Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Finance Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship presents an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various facets of accounting and finance, such as monthly close work papers, acquisition integration, ERP implementation, and financial planning and analysis. The intern will closely collaborate with our finance team, gaining valuable insights into corporate finance operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly close work papers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
- Review and verify financial data to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the finance team in integrating acquisitions, including aligning accounting processes and systems.
- Analyze financial data from acquired entities to ensure proper consolidation.
- Document and implement best practices for integration processes.
- Assist in ERP systems implementation, collaborating with the finance team to gather and document business requirements.
- Support data migration activities, including data cleansing and validation.
- Conduct tests on the ERP system to ensure it meets business requirements and functions effectively.
- Update and maintain financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders summarizing financial analysis and findings.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of acquisition processes and financial integration.
- Understanding of ERP systems.
Details
- Duration: Six months, starting on or around August 1st.
- Remote: Opportunities to work remotely with potential in-office opportunities in NY.
- Location: NY, NJ, CT, PA (preferably).
- Compensation: Co-Op (Credits through school).
- Time Commitment: 20-40 hours per week.
