Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Catapult Technology Solutions, a growing IT consulting company located on the NW side of Indianapolis, in the Park 100 area, is seeking an IT Helpdesk Support Technician to join our dedicated team.

    This position requires outstanding communication, and planning / decision making skills, along with the ability to accurately and thoroughly document the time and tasks conducted during technical service delivery. This is a in the office position, with some customer onsite work.

    You must like working with people and be able to explain complex technical problems in layman's terms for customers who are not technical. You need to be able to handle stressful situations and deal with clients with confidence and reassurance when problems arise.

    We are looking for someone with 3 years MSP experience working with desktops, networks and servers. A reliable car, truck or SUV is required for this position -- must have auto insurance and valid driver's license.

    Requirements:

    • Excellent customer-oriented technical consultative skills
    • Ability to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues for both desktops and servers
    • Experience in troubleshooting network related issues that can be related to network infrastructure such as switches and routers
    • Configuration of TCP/IP settings on network and troubleshooting TCP/IP issues
    • You have worked in an IT troubleshooting position for at least 3 years
    • You are comfortable and capable of troubleshooting and solving almost any complex issue that may affect a small to medium sized business
    • Physical Setup of networks, network racks and running Cat6 cabling on occasion.

    Here is the skills we are looking for, we understand not every candidate will have all these skills.

    • Microsoft operation systems, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
    • Windows systems administration, Active Directory, scripting, patching, configuration
    • SharePoint and Office 365
    • Backup, Disaster Recovery management experience
    • Mobile Device setup and configuration, IOS & Android
    • Networking, Firewalls, VPN, Switches, Routers, VLAN, Cabling, Cisco products, Wireless AP
    • Quick and effective troubleshooting
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • RMM and PSA expierence we utilize Kayesa, ITGlue along with other industry tools.
    • Prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations
    • Apple product knowledge

    Certifications or a degree are a plus, but NOT required with the proper amount of experience.
