Cash Receipts Accountant

Our Client, one of the most recognized and respected Insurance brokerages on Long Island seeks atalented cash receipts accountant that can exercise discretion and independent judgment when managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting areas related to cash receipt application, premium finance contract execution, and ES&P claims processing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Other duties may be assigned as required by business needs.
• Coordinate with Managers and Supervisors in the department, the overseeing of work provided to the department Administrative Assistant
• Daily – timely and accurate processing of receivables for the CREPE program
• Investigate CREPE discrepancies and follow up with brokers and AE’s for resolution
• Manage and resolve past ES&P balances by determining which and when balances are placed in collection
• Monthly – Distribute ES&P statements and collaborate with ES&P staff to resolve past due accounts
• Evaluate possible courses of action during the collection process of accounts
• Consider variables and take action when cancellation of account is necessary
• Monthly – Review and reconcile the ES&P exchange accounts and evaluate activity for JE
• Weekly –Review and investigate return premiums for payment to client, brokers or premium finance company
• Weekly – Process and follow up on CREPE’s discrepancies with brokers and AE’s
• Annually – Process 1099’s for ES&P accounts. (JRD, Rockland, Assura Claims and Fireman’s Fund & Amalgamated)
• Monthly – Evaluate the structure reclass report, make corrections via journal entry
• Backup: Process disbursements, receipts, and journal entries for various entities as needed
• Oversee the creation of bar codes for all payables – ensuring timeliness and accuracy
