The Licensing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    Facilitate the efficient operation of the counselor's office and provide clerical services to the counselor assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Education/Certification:

    • High school diploma or GED

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Proficient knowledge in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
    • Effective interpersonal skills
    • Basic math skills

    Experience:

    • One to three years of secretarial/computer experience in public education environment preferred

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Organize and manage the routine work activities in the counseling office.
    2. Perform varied typing tasks in the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports, etc. for the counselor.
    3. Assist in compiling information for preparing various reports for the counseling office.
    4. Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Maintain long distance telephone log.
    5. Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents as appropriate.
    6. Maintain a filing system for the office.
    7. Maintain a schedule of appointments and make travel arrangements as needed.
    8. Ensure confidentiality when required.
    9. Perform routine bookkeeping tasks including simple arithmetic calculations.
    10. Keep informed of and comply with all state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
    11. Project a good model for students in dress, demeanor, and speech.
    12. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward life and students.
    13. Display punctuality, congeniality, dependability and efficiency.
    14. Exhibit exemplary ethical and moral behavior.
    15. Cooperate fully with colleagues in shared responsibilities.
    16. Show tolerance for peer differences and promote harmony.
    17. Share experiences, ideas, and knowledge with peers.
    18. Seek advice and counsel when needed.
