Job Description

The Corrections Officer II presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Being a Corrections Officer II supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Oversees prisoner conduct and safety. In addition, Corrections Officer II documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Corrections Officer II gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
