The Emergency Communications Supervisor mentors dispatchers and manages escalated issues. Oversees a team responding to calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance and dispatching law enforcement, fire fighting, or rescue units. Being an Emergency Communications Supervisor ensures unit response details are thoroughly and correctly tracked. Coordinates training on message codes, situational protocols, and differentiating routine, priority, and emergency messages. In addition, Emergency Communications Supervisor administers the staff work schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.
