The Grants/Contracts Specialist helps to research grant opportunities and proposal requirements. Assists with grant and proposal research and writing operations to develop effective grant submissions and obtain funding for the organization. Being a Grants/Contracts Specialist maintains an overall grant calendar and uses project management tools to track all grant activity and timelines. Supports grant writers in understanding the complex proposal requirements from governmental agencies and institutions. In addition, Grants/Contracts Specialist prepares financial accounting or reporting required for grants. Performs quality reviews, proofreading, and validation of proposals for completeness and compliance. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Grants/Contracts Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.
