The Import/Export Logistics Manager expedites the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation. Manages the import/export process, and ensures compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations. Being an Import/Export Logistics Manager may negotiate with clients or handle issues with customs officials. Oversees the completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international distribution in a timely manner. In addition, Import/Export Logistics Manager requires a bachelor's degree of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Import/Export Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as an Import/Export Logistics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
