Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Manager oversees day-to-day operations of the corporation's ethics and compliance function, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. Develops and implements strategies for all activities relating to standards of conduct and ethical relationships. Being an Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Manager provides interpretation of the code of ethics and compliance, including the applicability of the organization's policies and programs to specific situations. Responsible for ensuring a thorough investigation is conducted of alleged violations of the laws or regulations pertaining to the business. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Manager may oversee development of a compliance risk management program to manage legal and regulatory compliance risks based on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines requirements. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Ethics & Compliance Business Unit Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
