Packaging Engineering Manager manages engineering design processes and teams that innovate, develop, and manufacture product packaging that will ensure product integrity, comply with regulations, and meet cost objectives. Develops prototypes to ensure a thorough evaluation of the effectiveness of new package designs and compliance with all requirements and regulations. Being a Packaging Engineering Manager establishes processes for testing, analysis, and selection of materials for packaging based on durability and cost-effectiveness. Coordinates with stakeholders to understand current and future packaging requirements. Additionally, Packaging Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Packaging Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Packaging Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
