Being a Tool and Die Maker I calculates the dimensions and tolerances required to set up the machine tools. Operates lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines to produce tools. Additionally, Tool and Die Maker I generally is participating in an apprenticeship or on the job training program. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Apprenticeship certificate. The Tool and Die Maker I gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
