Job Description for VP of Software Architecture
VP of Software Architecture oversees all aspects of the structural design and development of software systems. Directs the structural design and development of new software systems. Being a VP of Software Architecture develops policies and procedures to design efficient and scalable software architecture. Identifies, researches, and resolves bottlenecks or weaknesses in the system architecture to improve efficiency, speed, and security. Additionally, VP of Software Architecture evaluates and approves new technology, frameworks, and tools. Reviews architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development. Works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs. Estimates project feasibility, resources, and timeline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The VP of Software Architecture manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function.
