What does an HRIS Specialist do at companies like 2U, Inc.?

Summary of Job:

The HRIS Specialist provides HR system administration for Workday HCM and Greenhouse Applicant tracking system including business process configuration, reporting and supporting the implementation of new modules. Additionally, this individual supports end users by troubleshooting access issues as well as advising on the day to day use of HR systems. .

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Provide support to users and troubleshoot issues relating to user security, reports, application errors, and system functionality.
  • Act as Workday and Greenhouse SME working closely with internal stakeholders to recommend and document decisions, configure enhancements in Sandbox environments, support and lead both E2E and UAT sessions, and deploy changes to Production.
  • Create and maintain custom reports, dashboards and calculated fields relating to HR data and promoting self-service. 
  • Routinely audit systems for data integrity and standardization

 

  • Research best practices on Workday community, helping determine approaches to certain projects and enhancements, attending webinars, and user-group meetings

Education and Experience:

  • Have a B.A./B.S in (1) one to (3) three years relevant work experience; or an equivalent in education and experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years of HRIS experience, Workday preferred
  • Experience using Greenhouse (ATS) preferred
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA preferred
  • Possess analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret data 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail along with strong proofreading skills 
  • Strong written and/or verbal communicator
