CASAC-Behavioral Health

Location: Middletown and Newburgh, NY

Hours: M-F 8 am to 630 pm (flex) 40 hours

Job Description: 

The Integrated Outpatient Program (Articles 31 and 32) at Access: Supports for Living provides integrated, harm-reduction substance use and mental health services. The CASAC will ideally be able to integrate lived and shared experience in the assessment and individual, family and group counseling provided under our integrated outpatient license. This position will work closely with the counseling centers in Middletown and Newburgh, as well as the Substance Use and Mental Health Urgent Care Centers.

In this position, the ideal candidate will:

·      Perform initial assessments and intakes.

·      Maintain caseload and all necessary documentation.

·      Create or continue individualized treatment plans with clients.

·      Crisis intervention when necessary.

·      Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including therapists, doctors, nurses                 and peer advocates.

·       Travel between sites in Orange Counties when necessary.

·        Provide some assessment and care in the community.

Experience:

·      Substance Abuse: 1 year CASAC experience required. 3 years (Preferred)

·      Mental Health: 1 year required. 3 years (Preferred)

    Qualifications: 

 

·      One year of experience working in substance abuse field (three years               preferred.)

·       CASAC Certification required. 

·       Peer certification (strongly preferred)

·        Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills.

Education:

Alcohol and Substance Abuse Credential REQUIRED. Bachelor's degree in SW, Mental Health, or related field preferred.
