ACCESS: SUPPORTS FOR LIVING Transportation Assistant Salary in the United States

Percent of Travel Required: Local travel estimated at 0 – 50% per week

Overview:

The primary responsibilities for this position, include, clerical support functions, such as phone triage and customer service. Must be able to file and maintain office organization. Able to compile and submit reporting documents in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with Transportation Coordinator and dispatcher to ensure routes are scheduled and covered. Cross-train and perform tasks assigned to the dispatcher or senior dispatcher during periods of absence or high volume. Serve as back-up bus driver when vacancies exist. Complete other clerical and organizational tasks timely and efficiently, as assigned.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

-          Responsible for various monthly reports with strict deadlines.

-          Able to organize and interpret data for periodic reporting.

-          Routinely create and monitor schedules to ensure all routes have coverage.

-          Attend department meetings and provide feedback when required.

-          Perform the responsibilities of Dispatcher when necessary.

-          Fill in as a Bus Driver when coverage cannot be secured. This may require additional and/or different schedules. Weekend work may be required.

-          Able to serve on-call for the department once every three weeks.

-          Responsible for managing various projects within the department.

Qualifications:

-          Excellent driving record required and a clean driver’s license.

-          Possess an Active and Valid Class B CDL with P & S endorsements.

-          Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.

-          Some related driving experience.

-          Possesses excellent clerical skills and phone etiquette.

-          Possesses excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
