Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority
Pay $13.28 and hour with shift differential.
3rd shift, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
This position is responsible for setting and operating wet wire draw machines to produce good quality fine wire.
- Operate wet wire draw machines.Measure wire diameter, cast, helix and roundness following the operation QA plan.
- Remove finished full spools of wire from wiredraw machine and load empty spools.
- Operate wire welding machine.
- Operate wire pointing machine.
- Operate the die pulling machine
- Complete PM on all wire draw machines and Lube/filtration system as required
- Load raw wire into wire draws utilizing fork lift as per process documentation
- Transport finished wire spools to the production area as required
- Check lubricant level and mix in lube system using a refractometer.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must have HS Diploma or GED
- Must have mechanical aptitude, ability to read and understand micrometers, refractometer, and general inspection tools.
- Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Previous wet wire drawing experience and working knowledge of miscellaneous wire drawing equipment is a plus. Wire Draw or plastic extrusion experience preferred.
- PM program knowledge.
- Good safety record.
- Machines, Tools and Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software: Inspection tools and general maintenance hand tools, wet wire draw machine, associated peripheral wire manufacture equipment, refractometer and lift trucks.
- Licenses/Certification: Fork lift or ability to pass test.
- Must be able to perform all physical demands of position which includes frequent lifting of up to 45 pounds, bending, stooping, reaching and walking continuously.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions: Time is spent on the factory floor in a factory environment. Personal safety equipment could include safety glasses, hearing protection, and possibly safety shoes. Building is temperature controlled but would be exposed to heat, cold, humidity, machine noises, and is in the proximity of moving machine parts.
