BlueHub Capital, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a 35-year track record of building healthy communities through socially responsible lending and investment, is seeking a Client Intake Specialist for the SUN Initiative, an innovative program that helps individuals and families who are facing foreclosure or eviction remain in their homes with mortgages they can afford.

SUN purchases foreclosed and distressed homes at discounted values and resells the them (with mortgage financing) to their existing occupants thereby avoiding high levels of vacancy that encourage neighborhood blight and destabilization. SUN currently serves families in communities throughout Massachusetts, Maryland, Illinois, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Since its launch in 2009, SUN has helped over 1000 families remain in their homes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Client Intake Specialist will report to SUN’s Outreach Manager and will interact daily with clients, referral partners and the SUN team to assist in facilitating loan production:

  • Track inquiries made by phone, email and website
  • Promptly respond to client inquiries by phone to obtain client information and schedule a prequalification appointment with our licensed mortgage loan officers
  • Update Encompass with all relevant information to prepare the loan officer for the prequalification phone call and to collect referral partner information to assist the outreach team
  • Contact referral partner with notification of inquiry and communicate with referral partner if the referred client is unable to schedule or cannot be reached
  • Generate and send a written appointment confirmation and make reminder calls for clients scheduled for the prequalification call
  • Maintain the Inquiry Pipeline
  • Provide intake customer service and escalate or connect clients with the appropriate SUN representative
  • Participate in referral partner status updates
  • Generate weekly Inquiry Reports
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as needed

The Client Intake Specialist also will assist SUN team members with administrative tasks:

  • Coordinate and file documents in loan and real estate files
  • Assist with review and upload of documents after closings
  • Collect and collate files requested by the finance team
  • Call current borrowers to answer questions and facilitate communication

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have many of the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Established interpersonal skills focused on listening and responding while also efficiently introducing a client to the SUN Initiative
  • Administrative experience
  • Strong time management skills that include multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exposure to and interest in serving communities often underserved
  • Ability to learn all relevant aspects of the SUN process and the mortgage process
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of BlueHub Capital
