The Integrated Marketing Communications Associate Director, Champlain College Online (CCO) reports to the Director of UX & Creative Strategy and is responsible for conceiving, planning, coordinating, implementing, and measuring the effectiveness of cross-channel and multi-modal marketing and communication plans and “key initiatives”/campaigns aimed at a number of different stakeholder groups, including pre-funnel consumers, prospects, applicants, current students, and Champlain College (Trad) and CCO alumni.
Working independently, and in collaboration with other CCO admissions operations, marketing team members, advisors, truED, and academics; Champlain College stakeholders, such as the institutional marketing department, advancement, financial aid, student accounts, etc.; and external vendors, the Associate Director brings high levels of strategy and planning to the work, and uses data to make mid-course corrections, with a focus on marketing communications that:
Move pre-funnel consumers/partners into the admission funnel.
Positively impact funnel velocity.
Improve post enrollment communications to reduce melt.
Support retention efforts throughout the student lifecycle.
Increase the lifetime value of Champlain traditional and online students, and Champlain alumni.
In addition to being responsible for key marketing and communication plans and initiatives, the Associate Director supports the Director of UX & Creative Strategy, and other marketing team members in:
Social Media: strategy, content creation, and measurement
Search Engine Optimization: Assist with optimization updates and content generation.
Content Marketing: Assist with lead magnate asset creation, email communication plans, landing pages, etc.
Marketing Collateral: Conceptualize and develop marketing LPs, print material, and related collateral.
Update website and other digital and print marketing assets.
Job Responsibilities:
Marketing communications - fully own and/or assist in the implementation of multiple touchpoint, multi-modal marketing communications plans designed to attract, nurture, and retain prospective and current students (25%).
Key/special initiatives’ ownership - planning, project management, implementation, and measurement within CCO marketing, admissions, and academic advising (25%)
Social media planning and execution for both prospective and current student channels (20%)
Website: keeping content current and optimized for search engines in conjunction with the content strategist. (20%)
Provide marketing, communication, and event logistical support, as needed, to the truED (B2B team), our admission vendor, CCO academics, the Office of the President, and other offices at Champlain College that support CCO students. (10%)
Qualifications & Requirements:
7+ years experience in higher education admissions and marketing, ideally specific to adult, online learners -- both in full degree program and not-for-credit program marketing.
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
Deep understanding of the student lifecycle: from suspect to prospect, enrolled student, and graduate, with experience cultivating career-long learners.
Experience in B2B marketing a plus.
Significant experience leveraging higher education ERP (e.g., Banner, Colleague, or similar), CRM and marketing communications software (e.g., Salesforce & Pardot) for creating and monitoring marketing & enrollment KPIs.
Deep understanding of brand and visual communication, including graphic design capabilities
Knowledge of user experience design best practices and emerging trends
Experience in Drupal or similar CMS required
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite required
Experience with SMS messaging in enrollment management a plus.
