OBJECTIVES/SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Primary goal of this position is the accurate completion of the Accounts Payable and all other required accounting reports and records, and to strive for overall departmental excellence.

 QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate for this position will have a minimum of a two-year degree in business, accounting or related field or a minimum of two years experience in an office environment, including experience in Accounts Payable.

SKILLS REQUIRED: This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  General accounting knowledge, excellent math skills and a working knowledge of office machines and computers as they apply to the position are also required.  Must be proficient at Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

TRAINING NEEDED ANNUALLY: SSOP, GMP, HACCP, Animal Welfare, Food Security, Allergen

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

1. Compile all financial business transactions from purchase orders, invoices, capital expenditures reports, and other documents.
2. Review documents for accuracy and completeness and assign to appropriate expense accounts and post expenses in journals.
3. Run A/P checks weekly, balance requirements register for all payments due.
4. All records and information processed must be kept confidential and held in the strictest confidence.
5. Keep accurate records on capital expenditures and miscellaneous projects.
6. Prepare necessary documents for invoicing customers.
7. Provide support and back-up as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
8. Maintain a good attitude towards managers and other team members.
9. Maintain an active interest in performance level.
10. Maintain a good attendance record and report to work on time.
11. Perform related duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
