Job Title: Content Manager

Dept: Creative 

Reports to: Studio Director  

FLSA: Salary, Exempt, Full-Time  

 

Position Summary: 

Content Managers oversee the presentation of content on our websites and have a wide breadth of site management responsibilities. This position must establish and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all applicable tools and features available within our CMS in order to fulfill their various duties. Content Managers act as the main contact for Editorial, SEO and designers when support is required for site updates, page creation, image curation, article layouts and more. This position will also assist with landing page and microsite builds utilizing various CMS platforms. Directly managers and mentors Content Specialists. 

 

 Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Direct manager of Content Specialists

  • Manages day to day operations of content publishing ensuring Editorial layout and image requests are completed on time

  • Utilizes task management software and Editorial calendars to proactively maintain a broad overview of content in pre-production to ensure resources are allocated properly 

  • Partner with News and Managing Editors around daily homepage promotional imagery

  • Actively monitors featured imagery. Edit, create or replace featured images to ensure site rivers, social platforms and partner feeds are visually polished and contain brand friendly imagery

  • Participates in full production lifecycle of featured content, including scoping out content requirements, production and promotion

  • Build pages and sites to design spec as needed utilizing Wordpress and Webflow content management systems

  • Partner with Experience Designer to ensure page functionality is consistent with their vision

  • Maintain websites and manage time sensitive updates

  • Production of feature, review and evergreen post layouts within the CMS

  • Acquires, creates and edits assets for content production 

  • Manage and manipulate ready-made art assets across wide range of mediums

  • Actively supports with event coverage including image editing, polishing layouts, site navigation and homepage module updates

  • Assist with building and maintaining library of original, stylized photo illustrations for most frequently covered topics of our main verticals  

  • Create and manage various site taxonomies including categories, topics and tags

  • Design topics and landing pages within the CMS that follow best practices set by SEO, Design and Editorial

  • Follow color, image, and layout styles established by brand guidelines 

  • Assist with setup and management of site menus including navigation, sub navigation and footer

  • Generate and maintain partner feed integrations within the CMS

  • Setup and manage content feeds within aggregation platforms such as Flipboard and Apple News

  • Offer CMS-specific technical support and training to Editorial staff 

 

Qualifications/Skills: 

  • 3+ years of content management experience

  • College degree is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working within WordPress or similar CMS systems required.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required.

  • Experience working within Webflow platform a plus 

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and Javascript a plus

  • Must remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

  • Able to communicate and provide feedback effectively to others.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in an office environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
