Credit & Collection Manager
 
We are looking for an experienced Credit & Collection Manager to join our fast-paced, high-volume Finance team.  This position reports directly to the Controller, and will also be working very closely with the CFO and the Director of Finance.  This position will lead our credit and collections department, ensuring that cases are handled appropriately and according to company policy. With your excellent organizational skills, you will oversee a team of hard-working collection staff members to communicate with clients who owe money and increase the percentage of successful repayments. This team will also be working closely with our sales team to verify the legitimacy of our customers’ deductions and to promptly process credit memos against those deductions. You will have the chance to propose changes to the department as you see fit to create a proficient and efficient department. Foster team unity as you build relationships with your team and other business partners to continually reach department and company-wide business goals.
 
The Credit & Collection Manager will play a critical role in analyzing customers’ credit risk, advising on course of action for credit application, monitoring and negotiating the collection of overdue accounts. Your ability to analyze large data and develop recommendations is crucial to the success of this position.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Manage activities of staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient department. Improve rate of collection.
• Oversee the collection of outstanding credit and invoices to maximize profit while ensuring it is handled appropriately and per company policy.
• Create and implement strategies to increase the number of successful collections on outstanding debt.
• Recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff members within the collections department to ensure a sufficient number of staff members are available to handle the workload.
• Develop goals that complement the overarching business goals of the company and manage staff to continually meet and exceed goals.
• Track and monitor department’s KPIs and communicate result to the department and other business partners.
• Communicate progress regularly with team and key business partners to build and maintain a strong working relationship.
• Implement credit policies and procedures that retain a smooth running of the department and avoid excessive credit limits.
• Review and prepare bad debt schedule.

 
Jobs Skills & Qualifications:
Required:

• US Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance/accounting
• 5+ years of total experience with preferably 3 years of experience in similar role at a middle market CPG company with +/- 2000 monthly active accounts and +/- 15,000 monthly outstanding invoices/deductions
• Understand credit card merchant processor and gateway. Familiar with D&B reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel – Intermediate to Advance level
• Supervisory experience – minimum 2 years
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
