About the team and what we’ll build together

The Manager, Technology manages a development and QA team within an industry portfolio at Kobie. As a key component of our strategic roadmap and client implementations, the right candidate should have experience managing growth, development, and support for quality delivery of our technical solutions. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Technology Delivery.

The Manager, Technology is the primary lead of development and QA resources. You will be leading a diverse set of skilled developers and QA Analysts to develop and deliver solutions within a specific client portfolio. You will also assist in the management process and resource planning and will be responsible for driving results, team momentum, and positive educational growth for the team. 

You will be tasked with leading a team in the creation of quality solutions, planning resources, and managing the professional development of the team. You quickly understand business problems, are an effective communicator, and can lead in the creation of solutions that utilize current technology and work within the service provider landscape. 

The Manager, Technology will articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal counterparts and prospect/client stakeholders throughout the product development cycles.

 

How you will make an impact   

  • Interact directly with business-oriented internal and external clients, providing a translation layer to technically-oriented marketing technologists
  • Translate product-driven use cases into actionable work for the development and QA team.
  • Own the responsibility of the overall technical deliverables in a sprint or milestone.
  • Act as a communication proxy for your team and will frequently be explaining technical decisions in business terms
  • Raise the talent level within the team - through mentoring developers in Java, JEE, Spring, Javascript, Angular, .Net, HTML, ATDD & drive the team towards on target high quality deliverables
  • Ensure the QA team is delivering quality driven results through following QA standards including automation
  • Establish your credibility through the quality of your work & through strong hands-on coding expertise, and removing the technical impediments for the team
  • Contribute to SDLC best practices & drive code reviews

 

What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline preferred OR relevant work experience
  • 7 years of experience with hands-on technology projects
  • 5 years of Java/J2EE development experience is required
  • 2 years of solid Angular and/or .Net experience in an enterprise setting
  • Proficient in RDBMS “SQL” technology, for real time systems
  • At least 3 years managing a team
  • Experience overseeing technical project implementations
  • Broad technology knowledge, having worked with custom development projects, systems integration efforts and database systems
  • Technical expertise in overseeing production support with real-time issue/incident management and troubleshooting
  • Strong experience with REST services, Linux, and Spring
  • Strong foundational knowledge of how software and hardware systems interact
  • Broad knowledge of QA standards and automation
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technology-centric marketing services agency with a rapidly expanding customer base and able to present to potential prospects
  • Has previously sought out potential problems and project gaps prior to implementation and assisted with taking development projects from the initiation phase through the delivery phase and into production support
  • Ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language in the vernacular of each group
  • Be comfortable communicating with and representing Kobie’s brand with Fortune 50, 100, and 500 clients
  • Data modeling experience for OLTP systems is a plus. BI and Warehouse experience, a plus
