Description

Summary: 

Buyer is responsible for the review and execution of sourcing requirements generated by weekly Material Resource Planning (MRP) requirements and to report status to key Customer Focus Team (“CFT”) members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end management of assigned commodities.
  • Generate Material Action Report (MAR) and execute accordingly.
  • Advise Program Manager of the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) for customer collections.
  • As part of the Excess and Obsolete (E&O) mitigation process, work with supplier & Program Manager for reduction and/or return opportunities of material.
  • Resolution of non-conforming material and disposition accordingly.
  • Work with assigned CFT to assist with Material shortage resolution to support Customer demand requirements.
  • Work directly with assigned CFT to report material status for all related material of assigned programs.
  • Participate in product cost reduction initiatives, lead-time reviews and other special projects as necessary.
  • Train and perform Quality Management Systems cross functional internal audits.
  • Comply with all in-house training as identified in job specific family and or specific training plan.
  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) supply chain and distribution network.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize based upon deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications


Experience/Education:

  • 2 year college degree preferred or equivalent.
  • 5-7 year supply chain/materials experience in high-technology. EMS environment preferred.
  • Experience working with Excel required.
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems experience required.
