POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Buffet Host Cashier position a representative and the first impression of the Nisqually Red Wind Casino. The Buffet Host’s goal is to ensure that our guest are greeted warmly and seated promptly.

JOB SUMMARY: To ensure our guest’s experience in the restaurant is pleasant by greeting guests with a smile, seating guests in appropriate sections, performing money transactions on the POS register, and handling cash accurately.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guest.
• Actively supports the company culture by creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
• Responsible for receiving payment from guest in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Accurately input and account for all revenue associated with the service or sale of Food and Beverage products in the Point of Sale System (P.O.S.).
• Responsible for adhering to established cash handling policies and procedures of the company and department.
• Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact.
• At the end of the shift compiling Credit Card Tips accurately staying in compliant with the Tip/Toke Policy.
• Seat guest appropriately by following the rotation process.
• Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.
• Maintain a clean area at all times.
• Assists in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
• Stock all Host Cashier’s supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required skills and knowledge:
• 6 months cash handling experience.
• 6 months guest service experience.
• Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guest.
• Ability to listen and respond to guests in a loud environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• Ability to work positively on a fast paced environment
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone
• Excellent written communication
• Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Permit
• Ability to obtain a MAST Permit
• Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
• Ability to work peak business hours.
• Ability to obtain a Class II gaming license.
Preferred skills and knowledge:
• 1 Year Restaurant Experience.
• 1 Year Cash Handling experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
• Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
