This organization is seeking a well-organized, driven and seasoned individual to join the Clarkson team as an Equipment Finance Manager. The Equipment Finance Manager will engage in consistent communication and coordination with the field and office staff to ensure proper purchasing, maintenance, and construction equipment use, necessary for efficient company functioning.

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief of Field Operations, the Equipment Finance Manager is a senior contributor role that will serve as a subject matter expert for all inventory and equipment utilization analysis. This individual requires extensive knowledge and application of equipment management as well as effective and confident leadership skills and experience.

 

Data Analysis and Management:

 

  • Coordinate and oversee all financial tracking of the fleet – review all equipment purchases for the shop
  • Identify and create opportunities for increased leasing and deployment of Clarkson Construction Company’s fleet of equipment
  • Track equipment utilization and acquisition of owned, leased and rented equipment, applying data generated to make unit level decisions about rebuilding or replacing machines
  • Establish depreciation rates on equipment that has been acquired
  • Analyze reporting and apply available data to manage overall equipment and operational functioning, making informed decisions and proposed resolutions
  • Analyze and make recommendations on process and timing related to inventory sales and peak life cycle
  • Schedule and track preventative maintenance for all equipment

Financial Tracking and Budget/Rate Establishment

 

  • Establish yearly budgets for costs associated with equipment funds, adjusting fleet sizes and composition to meet the changing company and industry demands
  • Establish depreciation rates on equipment that has been acquired.
  • Set internal charge rates for owned and leased equipment and work with Estimating group to establish rates for selected projects
  • Supervise collection of internal charges on equipment as well as preventive maintenance tracking
  • Responsible for the disposal of assets that have been identified as unusable
  • Proactive data management and report generation related to the status of various inventory, equipment and projects.
  • Collects and provides invoice data for the development of financial controls and reporting.

Supervisory Oversight, Equipment and Employee Management

 

  • Ensure each machine is licensed, insured, inspected and certified (cranes, boom trucks) as required by OSHA
  • Maintain relationships with ALL local equipment dealers
  • Oversee any refurbishments, repairs or rebuilds necessary to prepare equipment for future assignment
  • Oversee mobilization planning on equipment moves, internal or contract haulers
  • Work with safety director to establish rules and evaluate equipment damage
  • Enforce a clean working environment for the shop and equipment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Technology, Equipment Management, Construction Management, etc.)
  • 2+ years large construction management experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in construction industry
  • Must have experience with Viewpoint & HeavyBid Software or related construction accounting/bidding software, as well as MS Office
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic with integrity and commitment to compliance
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
