Job Summary

The Claims Support Representative performs a wide variety of claim processing functions ranging from data entry to the handling and distribution of claim checks in accordance with Company policies. Other tasks include the processing of vehicle damage appraisals, posting an array of claim transactions, making system adjustments, and resolving issues for front-line adjusting staff.

Candidates for this position must have good customer service and organizational skills and be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy

Duties

• Monitor multiple email inboxes & respond to inquiries.
• Enter payment transactions.
• Review & Enter Direction-to-Pay form information.
• Index digital documents for policy and claim numbers and route them accordingly.
• Review vehicle damage appraisals for data entry errors.
• Make adjustments to claim data elements through various system options.
• Setup claims from digital and paper sources.
• Review claim payment reports for inaccuracies.
• Assist with various aspects of daily and monthly claim check handling including:  matching of documents with checks, typing and processing manual checks, & assisting with the handling of returned and voided checks.
• Identify and correct minor processing problems.
• Review Adverse Subrogation documents and assign adjusters.
• Index, verify, and process total loss paperwork.
• Generate system queries.
• Provide backup assistance to other Claims Support Department staff.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 2-year college degree preferred; Finance, Accounting, or other technical degree preferred.
• Ability to be extremely accurate entering data.
• Strong PC skills including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and work independently.
• 1+ year work experience in a related field a plus.
