SCHWEIGER DERMATOLOGY GROUP Assistant Controller Salary in the United States

Schweiger Dermatology Group, a leader in the field of dermatology practice with multiple locations throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania is searching for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our corporate office in Long Island City, NY. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage the Payroll and Accounting team of 4 professionals
• Review and analyze various P&L and Balance Sheet accounts covering 50 plus office P&L’s and 15 corporate departments
• Record monthly and month-end reclassification, correction and accrual journal entries across offices and departments
• Produce monthly Board of Manager’s file and reporting package for the CFO
• Produce and maintain monthly Office P&L’s and Department Expense Reports (P&L level)
• Learn the Company’s Accounting System (Multiview) and become co-system administrator over the GL, AR and AP, and reporting modules
• Design, develop and build the Company’s financial statement reports, office and department reports, and other analytical reports for use by the CFO, Controller and other management
• Maintain provider roster and provider compensation expense file and record monthly provider compensation expense
• Manage company corporate credit cards, monitor and review employee monthly credit card transactions and expenses, and upload credit card transactions from Concur to the GL
• Maintain all information on the Company’s building leases, deferred rent calculations, monthly lease payments and future lease obligations
• Work with the Controller in researching and adopting the new Lease Accounting standard in 2020 and record the RTU Assets and Lease Obligations for each building lease
• Calculate and pay all NY, NJ and PA Sales Taxes, NY CRT and annual state filings for NY, NJ, PA and DE
• Oversee Clinical Research trial billings, patient payments, and record monthly revenues and trial costs
• Calculate and allocate medical benefit costs across all offices and departments
• Perform other tasks and special projects as required

Requirements 

• BS degree with a major in Accounting – required
• MBA or Master’s in Accounting – desired, but not required
• CPA – desired, not required
• Minimum 5 to 10 years post-graduation Accounting experience in a public or private company
• Minimum 3 to 5 years management of professional Accountants experience in a corporate environment
• Exceptional computer skills, advanced Excel skills, and Outlook
• Exceptional Accounting Systems experience in mid-range accounting systems, including report writing and design skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills – verbal and written
• Motivated, willingness to learn
• Willing and able to work late during the month-end close, reporting and analysis timeframe, during interim and year-end audit, and for special projects
