A strong business-minded professional that manage the duties of AP and Medical Insurance Collections needed for busy ASC.

The dynamic candidate will provides support to the Business Office and is responsible for data entry of accounts payable, reconciliation of vendor statements, coding and matching invoices to packing slips, running month end close and reports, running the weekly preliminary check runs to determine cash requirements, finalizing vendor check run, maintaining vendor files, maintaining monthly financial reports and year-end 1099 preparation. Additionally, this professional is expected to manage the collections for the surgery center as well.

Below describes responsibilities to be excuted as AP duties:

* Maintains record of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and reconciles any discrepancies
*.Verifies invoices and contract pricing. Ensures PO, invoice and receiving documents are reconciled.
* Code and pay all invoices in a timely manner.
* Reconcile vendor issues related to credits and payments. Handle all vendor calls.
* Prepare various reports including, end of month accrual log.
* Work with Materials Management department to resolve invoice problems and credits.
* Review and follow-up on vendor statements.
* Prepare patient refund checks.
* Maintain vendor files.
* Process accurate data in Oracle with minimal errors.
* Perform quarterly 1099 audits and yearly 1099 activity.

Medical Insurance Collections Duties to include:

* Follow-up on insurance claims with in 2 weeks of the DOS

* Follow-Up on Workers Compensation claims with in 3-4 weeks of the DOS

* Work the aging report, and touch each account at least monthly

* Patient Billing report to be worked weekly

* Prepare monthly patient collection batches to be sent to our 3^rd party collection agency

* Communicate with physicians and their collectors (PAR’s) about problem accounts, and monthly collections

* Place a final courtesy call to all patient’s prior to requesting collections

* Follow up with Insurance carriers on any pending or rejected claim

* Address correspondence with in 24-48 hours of receipt

* Submit appeals with appropriate documentation in a timely manner

* Keep accurate copies of all documentation

* Review information for accuracy in Advantx and the patient’s chart

* Post all comments into AdvantX

* Adjust Accounts per USPI policy and surgery center guidelines with BOM approval

* Complete the Monthly Collections Tracking Spreadsheet

* Maintain DSO days to USPI goal

* Calculate patient allowable based on current carrier contracts

* Research any payer trends and communicate issues with the BOM

* Answer phones and direct calls accordingly
