About the Position:

As the Director of Information Technology, your mastery of technology will serve as a north star, guiding XY Planning Network to the tip-top of tech. You will oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, minimize security risks, increase team member satisfaction, and maintain operations and systems. Since we know you’re hungry for more, you will also establish IT policies and procedures to support the organization’s strategic plan for its current and future business lines.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Day-to-day management of technology for XYPN and all of its business lines
  • Oversee IT annual plans and finances, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Take charge of hardware and software assessment, provide recommendations for scale, and own implementation and support
  • Conduct information security initiatives in collaboration with a contracted VCISO firm
  • Manage IT vendor relationships and manage software agreements and contracts
  • Serve as administrator of all internal software
  • Pilot the IT Help Desk for the organization, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and delivering resolutions via our ticketing system, Zendesk—mastery of customer service is a must
  • Manage inventory of hardware and software subscriptions/licenses
  • Prepare new hire technology and conduct IT onboarding
  • Serve as an advisor and lend a helping hand to the internal Technology department, who develops in-house software solutions for our membership network of financial advisors

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $89,412 / year
  • All team members at XYPN are owners! We annually contribute an equivalent of 8% of your compensation into our ESOP as part your benefit
  • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require that you take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)
    • 8 paid holidays when the office is closed

    • $2,000/year available in Professional Development Funds
    • A sabbatical program that includes a cash bonus and extra time off at 5, 10, and 15 years

    What You’ll Bring to the Table:

    • Legally authorized to live and work in US
    • Proven experience as IT Director, IT Manager, System Administrator, or similar role
    • Tech-savviness with broad hardware and software knowledge, specifically with but not limited to:
      • Apple MacBook & iMac/MacOS, PC Laptop/Microsoft OS, Chromebook Laptop/Chrome OS
      • GSuite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
      • Slack instant messaging
      • LastPass
      • Zoom
      • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Brag-worthy leadership and management skills enabling you to chart the path to new tech horizons and bring everyone on the team along with

    What Would Make Us Drool

    • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
    • 5+ years related experience
    • Previous experience leading software transition at a scaling startup
    • IT Project Management experience
    • CISA and/or CISM Certification
    • Zendesk Certified Support Administrator
    • Information Security and Risk Assessment experience
    • Experience with Jamf NOW, Zapier, Datto Backupify, and HubSpot is a plus
