An Ultra Sound Tech, also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of various parts of the body to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. They work closely with patients to explain the procedure, position them for the scan, and ensure the images are of high quality for accurate diagnosis. Ultra Sound Techs also maintain and clean the equipment, keep detailed patient records, and may assist physicians during procedures. They must have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
